Dear Julia:

In 1995 there were 7,375 curbside recycling programs and 8,773 dropoff recycling sites were reported in 35 states (i.e. 15 states are not counted). The West and the Middle Atlantic states are the areas that are best served.
I hope that is a close enough response, because that s the only statistic that we can come up with.
