Dear Trent Milam,
In 1990 there were 5.4 billion lbs per year of polystyrene produced and expended as waste. The volume of polystyrene, not the weight, however, is the more telling environmental cost issue when it comes to disposal. Another figure puts the weight tonnage at 440,000 tons of polystyrene packaging only.
On wrapping paper, we don t have a clue. It s a coated paper subset of a larger category.
