Dear NJ DEP,

Do alkaline batteries still (post 1996) contain toxic metals? Trace amounts of Hg, making landfilling permissible in some states as a worst choice scenario, but permissible nonetheless. The RBRC is still out there recycling rechargeables and some others and you should get their view too. (800-8BATTER). Button cells still conain Hg.
